Basic Boat Skills Course #1

The first level of training is the basics of boating. In this 4-hour boating private instruction Boat Safety Course, students will cover safety checks including proper USCG required safety equipment, proper shifter/throttle control, proper vessel loading, proper fueling, VHF radio protocol, understanding wind & currents, maneuvers at low speed including holding station, maintaining course fore & aft, pivot turns, how to operate the boat safely, and an introduction to docking procedures.

Starting at $725.00 (1-2 students). Students 3 & 4 $200.00 each. (Pricing based on vessel size and travel distance)

Boat Handling Course #2

Upon completion of Basic Boat Skills, this 4-hour boating private instruction Boat Safety Course, students will advance to learning boat handling in common close quarter situations on the water.
Extensive training will focus on close-quarters maneuvering and operating around fixed objects such as docks. This portion of boat education will cover pivot turns, holding station, ferrying, holding course traveling forward, holding course traveling in reverse, adjusting for wind and current, side-tie docking, and slip docking.

Note: Course #1 must be completed prior to taking this course.

Open Water Boat Handling Course #3

This 4-hour boating private instruction Boat Safety Course, provides Boat Education about boat trim, displacement/ hull speed mode, planing mode, ferrying safety procedures, Aids to Navigation, Rules of the Road, maintaining course and speed, observing surrounding conditions, addressing waves & wakes, standard and emergency stops, collision avoidance, anchoring & approaching mooring balls, reacting appropriately, and lookout requirements, and continued docking training.

Note: Course #'s 1 & 2 must be completed prior to taking this course unless prior on-water experience has been obtained.

Advanced Maneuvers Course #4

This 4-hour boating private instruction Boat Safety Course, focuses advanced maneuvers. Boat Education will include each student performing various skills including plotting a course using a GPS, understanding chart symbols, cruising speed, trimming for optimum engine performance, maneuvering on plane, crossing waves/wakes, following seas, avoiding objects, emergency stops, man overboard training, anchoring handling higher sea conditions, and evasive maneuvers knowledge of day markers, proper procedures for intersecting boat traffic (Rules of the Road).  

Note: Course #'s 1, 2, & 3 must be completed prior to taking this course unless prior on-water experience has been obtained.
